Introduction

Investigating Environmental problems...

It has come up in my conversations, and many others, where people are left wondering what all the fuss is about regarding the Environment? Why some people (including some scientists) are so alarmed and concerned? And for those people familiar with the array of problems facing our society, many ask what can be done to improve the situation?

Throughout my education, I have found many topics regarding "sustainability" which are inevitably linked to every day life, therefore making these issues a concern for everyone, not simply those studying the environment, or even leaders and officials, and businesses, etc. but everyone. Something as simple as what you eat at home has its environmental and social consequences.

For this reason I am starting a blog to investigate problems, and possible solutions or improvements as a ready source for people who have other things to do in life but would like to make a difference. Not everyone can spend 4 years researching it, or indeed make it they're life's work. So here's for people. People that are busy, have important things to do, but also are interested in learning about available options, making a difference and improving what they can.
To begin I will be addressing the many many problems with agriculture (mostly in Canada/U.S.), since everyone needs to eat...

Regarding this blog, comments and questions are welcome. Please keep to constructive comments and criticism for the arguments themselves not against the individuals making them. The goal here is to consider as many aspects as possible of problems and potential improvements since this is a complex issue and there will likely never be truly "good" or "bad" solutions.
